Alemany Farmers Market
This design seeks to use different scales, programs and elements with the goal of bringing people closer together.
The single units modulate views through different scaled apertures, program adjacencies and porosity. These variations allow people to extend beyond the inside of the billboard, to visually connect and associate with the outside in different ways.
In the community area, plazas are introduced to build a public space that motivates people to gather and meet. These plazas, which are integrated with the slope and terrain of the site, function not only to connect people socially, but also provide a space for farming activities. This productive feature further connects the community to the adjacent farmer’s market.
